Who Is Nya Joy?
With extensive experience in community and clinical care, intertwined with a lifelong background in poetry, writing, and spoken word, Nya Joy approaches healing from a unique, integrated perspective. As a master’s-level clinical mental health counseling intern working toward her LPC, she is deeply grounded in somatic and expressive practices, honoring the truth that healing happens in community and through creative expression.
A creative at heart, Nya has long used artistic practices to foster peace and resilience. She serves the Denver metro area through community initiatives, including Blue Hour, an open mic and spoken word series running every first and third Wednesday of the month. With an extensive history of supporting Black and Brown spaces and youth, her work centers on expanding joy in both personal and collective lives.
She frequently collaborates on community events, workshops, and public speaking opportunities, sharing her voice as a poet and advocate to help others move toward lives led by purpose rather than fear.
